  • 1、Feb.27, in the award ceremony of the first session of China Governmental Prize for Publication held in the theater of Beijing Exhibition Hall, China International Television Corporation wins the “Prize for Advanced Publication Organization”, the “Forbidden City” published by the Corporation won the “Prize for Audio/Video/Electronic/Internet Publications” and "Review of Yangtze River” won the “Nomination Prize for Audio/Video/Electronic/Internet Publications”.
  • 2、Mar.5, the Corporation accomplishes task of publishing and producing the international version of the video Road to Rejuvenation assigned by the relevant authorities in the Central Government by making strenuous efforts and working overtime for a month, and this is the first video product in 8 languages produced by our Station and our country in a month.
  • 3、Between March 26-28, the Corporation convokes an annual presentation meeting for films and TV programs (spring) in Zhejiang, and achieves a great success on program sales, creating a brand-new prospect and laying a solid foundation for program marketing in 2008.
  • 4、Between April 7-11, the Corporation participates in MIPCOM (spring) for the 18th consecutive year on behalf of CCTV, and gains rich fruits on the market, making another achievement in the overseas promotion of domestic film/TV programs.
  • 5、May 4, the Ministry of Culture grants China International Television Corporation the “First Prize for Excellent Export Program in Export of Domestic Audio/Video Products” and “Second Prize for Excellent Export Enterprise in Export of Domestic Audio/Video Products”, and issued the “Individual Contribution Prize for Export of Domestic Audio/Video Products” to Ma Runsheng.
  • 6、May 8, the Corporation organizes a Party/League Day activity in the National Olympic Central Stadium, in which all the party members, activists enthusiastic about joining the party and league (China Communist Youth League) members participate.
  • 7、Between May 31-Jun.1, the Corporation sends a group of four members led by Ma Runsheng to deliver the DVDs of the grand disaster-relief performance “A Dedication to Love”, co-held by nine ministries and commissions, to Dujiangyan City and Yingxiu Town of Wenchuan County, Sichuan, to provide a rich collection of cultural and spiritual sustenance to two schools in the disaster affected area, and spend a special International Children’s Day with children in the disaster affected area; furthermore, the deliveries are sent to farther mountainous areas and villages by the “People's Army”, the backbone in disaster relief, and are warmly welcomed by the children and people in the disaster affected areas.
  • 8、Between Jun.10-12, the Corporation sends a delegation to participate in the 14th Shanghai Television Festival, completing the expected sales target successfully.
  • 9、Between Jun.18-20, the Corporation sends a delegation to participate in the 16th DISCOP in Hungary, and succeeds in developing the emerging international market.
  • 10、Jul.4, the Corporation formally signs a contract with Victory Media SA of Greece, acquiring the right to publish and distribute videos featuring the closing ceremony of Beijing Olympics and highlights of all the competitions and the former Olympic Games in the form of program agency.
  • 11、Jul.5-11, the Corporation quickly implements the directives of the central leadership by completing the publication and distribution of 360,000 DVDs of “Heroic Youngsters-Award Ceremony for Heroic Youngsters in Earthquake Relief in 2008 ” in a qualitative manner, submitting another satisfactory answer sheet to the Central Government.
  • 12、Jul.10, the Corporation launches a marketing campaign involving all the employees coded “Operation 08 Beijing Olympics”, with the theme “all participating in marketing campaign, laying foundation for next year”. On Aug.6, the “Media Meeting for Audio/Video Products for Beijing 2008 Olympics” is successfully held in the Media Center Hotel. As of Dec.31, the Corporation has distributed near 1.8 million Olympic audio and video programs through all-staff marketing, gains massive popularity with all walks of life and the consumers, and creates a new record in the distribution of audio/video products in China.
  • 13、Oct.13-17, the Corporation sends a delegation to participate in MIPCOM (autumn), on behalf of CCTV, and obtains another big success on international marketing. On Nov.8, Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of CPC Central Committee, makes a congratulatory and approving comment on the brief for “Another Harvest in Overseas Promotion of Chinese TV Programs”, fully acknowledging the efforts made by the Corporation to develop international markets.
  • 14、Oct.30-Nov.1, the sixth session of China International Film and Television Exhibition undertaken by the Corporation is successfully held in the Beijing Exhibition Hall. The exhibition covers an area of 22,000 square meters, and money involved in transactions (including intended transactions) amounts to RMB1.593 billion, ranking first in Asia. During the exhibition, an international forum on the “overseas influence of Chinese film and TV programs” is also successfully held.
  • 15、Nov.19-20, the Corporation organizes a military training activity, with the theme “develop scientifically, forge the team”, in the artillery brigade stationed in the Beijing Military Area Command, in which all the employees participate.
