With the convening of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, China International Television Corporation/China Radio, Film & Television Programs Exchange Center has recently launched overseas simulcast activity for the large documentary the Belt and Road. South Korea, Germany, Hungary and Malaysia have joined the simulcast group, making its contribution to success of the Forum. Korea TV has begun to broadcast the documentary during 17:00-18:00 on each Saturday since May 6 and Korea Channel China plans to broadcast the program during 17:00-18:00 on each Friday starting from May 12. The Belt and Road broadcast in Korea is localized and packaged by the Corporation which tries to fully illustrate practical significance and value of the times of the Belt and Road for the local audience. In addition to Korean, German and Hungarian, the Corporation also undertakes the translation and distribution of the Belt and Road in 11 languages including Japanese, Turkish, Greek, Persian, Urdu, Indonesian, Malay and Italian. At present, Korean, German, Hungarian, Japanese, Greek and Persian versions have been translated and successively broadcasted, and versions in other languages are expected to be completed by the end of May.
This simulcast constitutes an important part of the second simulcast of the “Belt and Road Media Community”. During the 18th Arabic Radio, Film and Television Festival held in April, eight platforms including the Tunisia National TV, the Jordan National TV, the Lebanon National TV, the Lebanon OTV TV, the Egypt National TV, the Morocco National Broadcasting Company, the Bahrain TV and the Sudan Eastern TV, successively started to broadcast the Arabic-version TV drama series Life Revelation, ushering the second simulcast of the “Belt and Road Media Community”. Soon afterwards, the Indonesian version of The Four was added into the simulcast list. By now, there have been a total of 19 platforms from 12 countries and regions participating in the second simulcast of the Community, thus making it an outstanding achievement.
